Sandwich cottage holidays Holiday rentals - country and coastal cottage to rent in Sandwich

Sandwich is a historic town in the Dover District of Kent that lies on the River Stour, is a well preserved Medieval town in Britain and one of the original Cinque Ports which were grouped together by Edward the Confessor for defence purposes. Sandwich town is a gret place to wander through the unspoilt, medieval streets, where there are more half timbered houses than any other street in England. You can also enjoy the town from a river boat, which travels up the River Stour and take's in some seal spotting in their natural habitat.

Sandwich will draw you in with it's laid back vibe and idyllic charm and unsurprisingly, is often associated with its namesake snack - although the Earl of Sandwich had no real connection with the town, however food is an important part of the town’s makeup, with plenty of different culinary fayres and festivals taking place throughout the year.
