Aldeburgh is a beautiful coastal town on the river Alde. It boasts stunning views of the coast and is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Suffolk Heritage coast. With a delightful pebble beach, a great stop to try the local seafood at one of the seafood and fresh fish cabins located on the promenade. The thriving town is filled with cafe's, independant boutiques, craft shops and galleries.
Aldeburgh is famous for many things: great fish & chips, Aldeburgh Music, Maggi Hamblings’ Scallop on the beach, as well as a lively art scene. It's also famous as the home of composer Benjamin Britten and his partner Peter Pears. There are several reminders of his life around the town, you can stop by St Peter and St Paul’s Church in the town & visit where he is buried.
